Womby's trip to Sydney

Hi 1G,

Maddy and Womby got back from Sydney tonight! They had a fantastic trip! Womby enjoyed the flight and sat quietly on Maddy's lap.

On Friday They went to the zoo to meet Womby's cousins. They were very sleepy little wombats!

Ferris wheel in Luna Park was a little bit too exciting for Womby but he enjoyed the views of The harbour bridge and opera house!

They also went for a ferry ride to Manly. What a busy but fun weekend it was!

Here is few pictures of their trip!

What I eat: I only eat leaves and stems of plants and usually only eat at night.

What I look like: My size ranges from less than 1 inch to over 1 foot in length, depending on my species. I have a built in camouflage and appear to look like part of the plant.

How I am born: I go through three stages of development: egg, nymph and adult. The female can lay up to 150 eggs, dropping them one by one to the ground. My egg is also camouflaged and resembles a brown seed. I hatch in the spring as a nymph and resemble a tiny adult. My lifespan is one season.

Year 1 Fireman Visit

Cleveland Fire Station Visits Year 1

Tuesday, June the 7th

Today Year 1 students and teachers had a visit from the firemen from Cleveland Fire Station.

They talked to us about good and bad fires, what their role is today, what we do if we are faced with a fire at home and the emergency number to call.

Students in Year 1 got to see the fireman dress up in his emergency uniform, along with his mask, gloves, boots, oxygen tank and helmet. This was very interesting.

At the end of the visit we all went up to the pick up zone and waved goodbye to our new friends.
