Narelle Oliver reads from her book called 'Fox and Fine Feathers'.

Narelle Oliver Visits MMK

Today, author and illustrator Narelle Oliver came to our school. She read two of her favourite stories that she has written and talked to us about how she came up with the ideas for her books. Narelle spoke to us about how she illustrates her stories and what sources she uses as inspiration for her prints and drawings.

Some of her books we have shared this week include:
The very blue thingamajig
Home
The Fox and Fine Feathers

Wellness Week - Art Room fun at Lunchtime

Wellness Week - We now have a buddy bench

At StMMK school we have introduced a buddy bench to our junior playground areas. The buddy bench is a place for children to meet, a place to meet new friends, a place to expand your friendship circle or go when you are lonely. The deal with the buddy bench is that if someone is sitting on it we need to ask them to play or join in our fun.

Thanks Mr Moss and the P/F for our new buddy bench.

Chocolate game in A-C-T-I-O-N!

Wellness Week - playing the chocolate game

During Wellness Week we had an afternoon of games in the classroom. One of our games was the 'chocolate game'. With the class in a circle, the students roll a dice. If they get a '6' they go to the middle put on their hat and shirt and are allowed to cut into the chocolate bar one piece at a time until someone else throws a '6', then they must stop. It was very funny to watch.
